Over the past two decades, Artangel has forged a reputation as one of the most individual and innovative arts organisations in Britain.
Artangel commissions and produces exceptional projects by contemporary artists. Consistently ambitious and surprising in both idea and scale, they are the kinds of projects that shift expectations and generate excitement wherever they take place.
Since the early 1990s, Artangel has produced over fifty major new commissions, often extraordinary and occasionally highly contentious including Rachel Whiteread’s House (1992), Jeremy Deller’s Battle of Orgreave (2001), Gregor Schneider’s Die Familie Schneider (2003) and most recently Penny Woolcock’s feature film for Exodus and Paul Pfeiffer's video installation by Wembley Stadium, The Saints.
Artangel is supported by the Arts Council of England and The Company of Angels.
